Het EKVA-toernooi kan dit jaar niet doorgaan in dezelfde vorm als andere jaren. Daarom deze brief aan onze engelse vrienden.

Beste vrienden,

Voor het eerst in 18 jaar geschiedenis van het EKVA toernooi ondervinden wij in 2012 veel last van de vakantiespreiding in Nederland.

Daar in onze regio de basisscholen pas op maandag 3 september weer starten en het voorgezet onderwijs zelfs pas op 10 september, zijn veel van onze eigen leden en die van verenigingen uit onze regio nog op vakantie als ons toernooi gepland staat in het weekend van 25 en 26 augustus.

Het toernooi een week verplaatsen is niet mogelijk daar de competitie al in het weekend van 1 en 2 september zal starten.

Wij hebben daarom moeten besluiten om het toernooi in 2012 niet door te laten gaan.

Jullie zijn echter nog steeds van harte welkom om naar Almere te komen.

Wij zullen proberen voor al jullie teams wedstrijden te plannen op de zaterdag tegen diverse EKVA teams. Op zondag kunnen jullie dan een bezoek brengen aan het pretpark of Amsterdam.

Op zondagavond zullen wij dan weer het gebruikelijk palentoernooi organiseren of als jullie dat liever hebben, op zondag overdag.

Graag horen wij op korte termijn of jullie hier gebruik van wensen te maken.

Dear Friends,

For the first time in the 18-year history of the EKVA tournament we experience a lot of hindrance from the regional spreading of the Dutch school holidays.

In our region the primary schools will commence, after the summer break, as late as September 3rd, and secondary schools will start even later, on September 10th. As a result many of our club members and their families, as well as those of clubs in the same region, will still be on holiday during the planned tournament dates (25-26 August).

It is, alas, also not possible to hold the tournament a week later, as then the first competition games start already (1-2 September). Thus, we are left with no other option than to cancel the 2012 tournament.

However, despite this unfortunate cancellation, we do still invite you to come to Almere. If you decide to come still, we will arrange games for all your teams on Saturday against a variety of EKVA teams. On Sunday you could then either visit Amsterdam or the nearby Amusement Park (formerly known as Six Flags). On Sunday evening we propose to hold the usual “Palentoernooi” (shooting contest). Alternatively, if you prefer we could hold this contest during the daytime.
